- To conduct research on Tamil language and literature.
- To study
the culture related to Tamil society.
- To study
Indian and Foreign languages in relation to linguistic, literary and cultural aspects
of Tamil.
- To conduct
special surveys and studies of Tamil Siddha Medicinal texts and practices which
are helpful to codify the ancient medical knowledge for the benefit of mankind.
- To collect,
document and study our indigenous medical knowledge and practices from the tribes
and folk.
- To publish
rare ancient Tamil texts.
- To publish monographs and research
works.
- To publish
the writings of eminent scholars.
- To release
a quarterly journal which contains research articles in both Tamil and English.
- To conduct
language workshops / seminars / brain storming sessions etc.
- To conduct
workshops on manuscriptology, field methods relevant to the study of Tamil culture
etc.
- To conduct
training programmes on Tamil as spoken language for non-Tamil speaking people.
- To establish
a library for the benefit of language researchers.
- To establish
a recognized research institute for language literature and culture.
- To institute
awards, fellowships, and prizes to be awarded to the eminent and outstanding scholars
in language and literature who serve for Indian literature.
- To collect
and document the knowledge and technique of fine arts like music, sculpture, painting
and other folk forms and to establish a museum of culture and so on.
- Any other activity which is related to language and culture.
- To enter into collaboration
or joint venture with similar minded organizations, individuals or governmental
agencies to plan and execute projects, schemes, etc. which will help in the realization
of the above said objects of the trust
